The Annual LOCS Holiday Party is coming up at 6:30PM on December 11th in the Grotto at Angelo's in Monona (5801 Monona Dr).

Please also bring cash to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank and supplies for Domestic Abuse Intervention Services.

Bring a Buffett or tropical gift valued at $15-$20 for the gift exchange! Handmade and creative gifts encouraged!  Bring small bills or jokes if you want to steal someone else's loot!

This event is, unfortunately, members-only, but it's never too late to send in a membership form!

Meet at 10AM at Morgan's in Pine Bluff, 8640 W Mineral Point Rd, corner of Mineral Point (Cty S) and County P.  We'll grab lunch and beverages at Morgan's after we clean.

We will provide vests and bags.   Bring work gloves, long pants and boots are recommended because it can be muddy along the road.

Pirate Pub Plunder Tonight!

Ahoy mateys! Set sail with us as we plunder pubs of downtown Madison to raise money for the Dane County Humane Society! Bring $10 in dubloons to donate to the DCHS and then join in for an evening of shanties, grub, and grog and we march from port to port for an evening of merriment!

Here's an approximate route, subject to change if we get delayed, get lost, feel like moving early, stumble into somewhere else, or otherwise decide to change it. We'll try to keep things on or close to the square rather than heading towards campus.

September Happy Hour - BYO 9/13 at Baxter Park!

This month's Happy Hour is coming up this Friday (9/13)!  We'll be meeting for a pot-luck near Michael's tree in Baxter Park (777 Englehart Dr, Madison), the tree is on the West end of the park, near the intersection of Englehart Dr and Ward Ct.  Bring your own food and drink (and chair), and little extra to share!

We'll be meeting around 6:00, or maybe a little earlier, if we can get off out of work early!

It does also happen to be Jon's birthday, just sayin'.  We may head out somewhere downtown afterward.

2013 Alpine Bus Information

Note: The bus is full and for club members only.  If you'd like to ride with us next year, Join the Club!

THE BUS LOADS AT 10:00 A.M. AT THE SHOPKO, MONONA PARKING LOT, AT 10:00 AM.  AT 10:00 A.M. WE WILL PACK OUR THINGS UNDER THE BUS AND PICK OUR SEATS, AT 10:00 A.M.

Bring your food item to share (Jell-O shots and the like are considered food items) for the tail gating.  We furnish no beverages so bring your own.  Large coolers will go under the bus.  You may take a small one on the bus for the ~90 minute drive.

Bring substance food for yourselves for lunch, dinner and the way home.  Don’t expect to be fed off the snack tables.  WE DON’T WANT PEOPLE MAKING A MEAL OUT OF JULIE’S JERK CHICKEN AND LEAVING NON FOR ME (Julie, no pressure to bring Jerk Chicken this year… butt your seat and ticket depend on it).  We typically have way more snack things like chips and deserts then substance foods on the table, so if you feel inclined to bring more real food, please do… but keep it simple.  Finger food is best.  There will be paper plates and plastic forks… I believe.

There has been no plans made to do any cooking there, so don’t bring raw meet unless that’s what you intend to share.  Don’t bring a full watermelon and expect everyone to cut their own piece.

Policy is that everyone riding the bus is to have a ticket.  The gate people do step on the bus and ask everyone to show their tickets.  Those of you who will be receiving Club Pavilion tickets will get them on the bus.

Our next monthly meeting and summer highway cleanup is at 6:00PM on July 31st at Morgan's in Pine Bluff, 8640 W Mineral Point Rd, corner of Mineral Point (Cty S) and County P. Take a Stake in the Lakes and Cottage Grove Fireman's Fest Next Weekend

It's time for the annual Dane County Take a Stake in the Lakes!  We'll be meeting on Saturday, 6/15 at Goodland Park on Lake Waubesa (near Christy's Landing) at 10AM.

Bring gloves, rakes (heavy duty garden rakes are best) and shoes to get wet.

We will have t-shirts, water and a cooler of beer for the workers.  Cleanup usually takes about 1 1/2 hours or so, then we head to Christy's for lunch.

Also next weekend (6/14-16) is the Cottage Grove Fireman Festival at Firemen's Park in Cottage Grove:

-Price: FREE!  (BYO!)- Rooms (regardless of size) are $89 - There are a number of rooms right along the pool, so we'll be able to use those as hospitality rooms for the party (food, drinks, auction, etc). We'll also have the rooms on the first floor in the corridor closest to the pool area - but make sure to reserve your room by February 2nd so you're in that block! - There's no bar or restaurant at the hotel, so we'll bring our own food and drinks! NO GLASSWARE BY THE POOL! - There is, however, continental breakfast provided. - There will be plenty of tropical music to get you in the mood (for what, well, that's up to you).- There will be games and raffles and tom-foolery in and around the pool! - And best of all, the pool area is open 24 hours, so the party won't have to stop!
